This is the definitive way to see Auckland, the islands of the Hauraki Gulf and Waiheke Island from land, sea and ‘air’ all in just one day! Enjoy the city’s highlights in the morning, a leisurely cruise to Waiheke Island and then ziplining in the afternoon.
Sandwiched between two spectacular harbours, Auckland is today home to more than 1.6million New Zealanders. Join award-winning Bush & Beach Tours on a small group tour that reveals the history, sights and sounds of the “City of Sails”.
After pick-up from your city accommodation you travel up Queen St, through Auckland’s central business district, past Auckland University and through the leafy inner city park, known as The Domain; home to the beautiful Auckland Museum and Wintergardens. Continue on through the picturesque Victorian suburb of Ponsonby, famed for its celebrated architecture, before heading over the Harbour Bridge. You’ll stroll on golden Narrow Neck Beach in historic Devonport before continuing up to the summit of Mt Victoria for magnificent, panoramic, views of Auckland. Next you’ll retrace your steps to view Westhaven Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Southern Hemisphere, en route to Auckland’s waterfront.
Arriving at the historic ferry terminal, you’ll have time to grab a bite of lunch before joining your Fullers ferry for a cruise to Waiheke Island. On arrival EcoZip Adventures will meet you on the quayside and whisk you away to enjoy the zipline and native forest experience. You will experience three unique, flying fox ziplines. Each of the 200m long dual cables allow you to fly side-by-side with a friend, making this an exceptional shared experience. Then enjoy a native forest walk before EcoZip return you to the ferry for your journey home to Auckland, or alternatively you can be dropped off at one of the island’s many vineyards, restaurants, beaches or villages. You can check out the EcoZip video below.
This tour is ideal if you’re tight for time but keen to see both the city and Waiheke.
